DAS Surveys
Access to the DAS members’ survey system is a longstanding membership benefit. The results of previous DAS surveys have been presented at various meetings and published in peer-reviewed journals, providing a valuable resource to the DAS membership to improve clinical practice and patient care.
We are keen to facilitate the investigation of practice and opinion through the use of surveys of the DAS membership. With a large membership and social media following, we hope that we can attract high response rates.
Please read the guidelines before submitting requests for surveys.
DAS has a responsibility to the membership to ensure that these surveys are relevant to the general membership of DAS, well designed, and not similar to other recent surveys. All submitted survey proposals will undergo a peer review process conducted by the DAS Survey Sub-Committee to ensure that only high-quality surveys are distributed to our membership. This process acknowledges the value of our members’ time and aims to respect it. To minimise the issue of survey fatigue, the society will aim to distribute a maximum of 2 DAS member generated surveys each year.
The authors of a completed survey are expected to submit a structured summary report of the survey findings to DAS within 3 months of the survey closure. A brief summary (if the survey is published in a peer reviewed journal) or the full survey report may be published on the DAS website for the benefit of the whole membership.
The DAS survey coordinator can be contacted by emailing [email protected] for further details. The current DAS Surveys Coordinator is Sneh Shah, Consultant Anaesthetist at Northwick Park Hospital, Harrow.
