DAS Short
A high impact, 2 minute educational video focused on improving safety in airway management.
Are you a DAS resident member with a great teaching idea?
We’re inviting residents to create a ‘DAS Short’. This is your opportunity to share practical knowledge, showcase creativity, and contribute to the airway community.
What is a DAS Short?
A concise, engaging, 2 minute video teaching a specific technical or non-technical skill in airway management. Examples of topics might include: a practical airway technique or tip; equipment setup or troubleshooting; or, team communication during airway emergencies. Videos must be original work.
The winner will receive £100 in prize money and have their video played at the DAS 2026 ASM!
Rules of entry
1. Entries are invited on any airway management topic, but must be original. Content must focus on airway management and have a clear educational objective. Videos must be a maximum of 2 minutes in length.
2. The author/creator must be a DAS member and resident/trainee. Individuals or small teams may submit, but one named trainee must act as the lead entrant.
3. Members of the DAS committee will judge anonymised entries.
4. We will be judging videos based on educational value, clarity and accuracy of content, creativity/artistry and engagement, as well as relevance/practical usefulness for DAS members.
5. Patient confidentiality must be strictly maintained; no identifiable patient information or images. If filmed in a clinical environment, ensure appropriate permissions are obtained. Submissions should be professional, accurate and aligned with current safe practice.
6. By entering, participants agree that DAS may share or use the video for educational purposes (with credit).
To enter
Submit your video via WeTransfer (https:// wetransfer.com/) to [email protected], in addition to an email containing the following information:
- Title of your DAS Short
- Name and training grade
- Institution
- Evidence of DAS membership status
- Evidence of training status (e.g. LLP screenshot)
- 1-2 sentence summary of the video
Winners will be contacted by email.
