DAS Research

The importance of research and collaborative academia to understand, inform, and improve clinical practice in airway management has been highlighted time and again throughout the COVID-19 pandemic and beyond. DAS hopes to continue supporting academic anaesthesia through both bi-annual Large and Small Project Grants awarded via the National Institute of Academic Anaesthesia (NIAA) and by direct applications for small funding support for planned airway-related research.

DAS Grants via the NIAA

DAS offers bi-annual Large and Small Project Grants awarded via the National Institute of Academic Anaesthesia (NIAA) application process.

Direct applications for small funding support for planned airway-related research

To ensure continuity and sustainability of grass-roots airway management research, DAS provides grant funding via direct application on a rolling basis. Applications for funding of up to £5,000 for studies broadly related to airway management will be peer-reviewed. These DAS grants will be available throughout the year. More information can be obtained by contacting DAS Scientific Officer, Dr Kariem El-Boghdadly at [email protected].
