DAS 2008 LIVERPOOL MEETING

2008 was the year in which Liverpool was Europe's "Capitol of Culture" and the DAS Meeting to coincide with this was held in Liverpool's famous (or perhaps infamous?) Britannia Adelphi Hotel. Workshops were held on Wednesday 12th November and the Scientific Meeting on 13th and 14th.

The meeting took place at the Guildhall in Portsmouth. The conference consisted of a day of workshops, which included a courtroom ‘mock trial’, state of the art simulators and a multitude of airway techniques and equipment for education and practice.

The Scientific Programme over the following two days consisted of lectures from world-renowned speakers, controversial debates, case presentations and research.

LILLE MEETING 2005

­The Annual Meeting was held in Lille, Northern France on Thursday 24th - Saturday 26th November 2005 in the Grand Palais Conference Centre.

The organising committee was Mansukh Popat, Stuart Benham, Viki Mitchell, Anil Patel, Adrian Pearce and Bernie Liban. The organisation of the meeting was aided by a group of Lille anaesthetists, particularly Veronique Crinquette and Professor Renee Krivosic-Horber.

The joint meeting of the Association of Paediatric Anaesthetists and the Difficult Airway Society was held in Norwich on 10-12 March 2005

The Joint APA/DAS part of the meeting was on Thursday 10th March 2005 in the King's Centre, King Street, Norwich.

The subsequent APA meeting was Friday 11th and Saturday 12th March 2005.

The 2004 Meeting was held in Leicester. Workshops on Wednesday 24th November at the Leicester Tigers Rugby Football Club and the Scientific Meeting on 25th and 26th November in the Walkers Football Stadium.

The 2001 DAS annual meeting took place in the historic heart of Oxford at the Victorian Town hall and was an excellent opportunity to update knowledge and skills, while enjoying a winter break in Britain's oldest university city.

DAS 1999 Edinburgh Meeting 25th - 26th November 1999

This year’s annual DAS in Edinburgh was an extraordinary event. The sumptuous Royal College of Physicians was the perfect setting for 2 days of presentations and the Society Dinner. The large, newly refurbished lecture theatre may have had seating for over 300 delegates, but it proved barley large enough to hold the record number of attendees and there was standing room only for some of the sessions.
