Course learning outcomes: 

Advanced Airway Management Workshop learning outcomes: 

  • Ability to do Fiberoptic intubation on manikins. 
  • Able to do Retromolar intubation on manikins. 
  • Able to do ultrasound examination of airway of human volunteers. 
  • Ability to perform surgical airway on airway model. 
  • Ability to demonstrate successful use of video laryngoscopy on manikin. 
  • Ability to perform pediatric airway management. 
  • Ability to perform difficult airway scenarios on Fiberoptic simulation station. 

Basic Airway Management Workshop learning outcomes: 

  • Ability to examine airway for intubation and ventilation. 
  • Able to adequately establish bag-mask ventilation. 
  • Able to modify mask holding with adjuncts when required. 
  • Ability to demonstrate successful oral and nasal intubation on manikin. 
  • Ability to demonstrate successful use of video laryngoscopy on manikin. 
  • Ability to demonstrate insertion of LMA & confirm position and change position if require.

The aim of establishing this Airway Management (AM) Workshops and Courses is to train all grades of anesthesiologists including medical students, residents, fellows, specialists, consultants and technicians, technologists, nurses plus other healthcare professionals to: 

  • enable them to optimize their use of airway equipment and machines by providing basic clinical science consideration of the airway management (AM) 
  • • Practice to an internationally recognized level of competence in AM 
  • To disseminate both education and knowledge on AM that will help serve our patients with the safest, most compassionate and most effective medical health care 

Highly Specialized Airway Skills Workshop learning outcomes : 

  • Ability to do Lung separation on manikins. 
  • Able to do Anterior Neck Access (FONA) on manikins. 
  • Able to do Endoscopic Airway Evaluation on human volunteers.
  • Ability to demonstrrate THRIVE/HFNC/HFNO principles
  • Ability to demonstrate flow contrrol ventilation (FCV)
  • Ability to perforrm surgical airway and Percutaneous trracheostomy on airrway model
